Southern Grace Nigerian Dwarf Dairy Goats Terms of Sale:
Thank you for your interest in a Southern Grace Dairy Goat. We are excited to do business with you and are more than happy to help in any way we can! We want you to be pleased with your purchase and therefore we have some terms that govern the sale of our animals. I will assume with any purchase that you have read and agree to our terms of sale.
Purchasing Goat Kids: Preference will be given to performance (show and DHIR) homes. We reserve the right to retain any kid born for our herd. When you have made your selection a 50% non-refundable deposit (no kid will be held until deposit is made) is required to hold the kid until pick-up arrangements can be finalized. In the event something happens (death or permanent injury) between time of birth and 8 weeks of age, I'll gladly refund your deposit or apply it toward a baby that would also fit your needs, whichever you prefer. The remaining balance is due when the selected kid(s) are 8 weeks old and all risk is transferred to the buyer. Kids are available for pickup at 8 weeks old. Buck kids MUST be picked up by 9 weeks of age. Doe kids can be picked up by 10 weeks of age unless other arrangements are made - please see board stipulations below. Our kids are dam raised, well socialized and will be disbudded (no exceptions unless naturally polled). Doe kids are sold with completed ADGA registration applications (either online or paper), please see new 2024 requirements for bucks below regarding registration and DNA. Leaving the farm for the first time is very stressful on babies which can effect their immune systems, so we do everything on our end to make the transition easier on them. All kids will be dewormed, vitamin B complex as well as probiotics before they leave. Even with our proactive care we ask that buyers have supportive products and antibiotics on hand to handle any issues that may pop up due to the stress of transportaion and being in a new place. Kids are priced primarily based on the success of the dam in the show ring, DHIR and linear appraisal.
**NEW as of 1/1/2024 regarding bucks born AFTER 1/1/24** - Due to the madatory ADGA DNA type requirement for all bucks born after 1/1/24, buck kids will be ADGA registered and have had DNA pulled and sent directly to UC of Davis for you before you pick up your buck kid. Please send $50 along with your deposit to cover the DNA and registration costs.**
Purchasing Adult Goats: A 50% non refundable deposit is required to hold the animal. Adult goats must be picked up within 2 weeks and balance paid in full (cash at pickup unless a transporter will be picking them up). After that 2 week time period all risk is transferred to the buyer - see boarding stipulations below. A doe sold as exposed/bred is not guaranteed to be pregnant, just that she recieved normal service from the buck. If a bred doe is purchased she MUST be picked up before the last month of pregnancy (unless otherwise agreed upon) or the resulting offspring will become the property of Southern Grace.
Payment/Transport: I prefer payment in cash, but I can accept paypal on certain terms but funds must be sent via friends and family option - otherwise checks (for the deposit only - all funds must clear before goat is picked up) are welcome too. I often get multiple inquires about the same goat - If you inquire about a goat for sale by asking for more pictures or information than what is already provided, this does not constitute a binding agreement on my part to hold that goat for you. If someone else inquires and decides on the spot to send me a deposit based on the information available, they will be the one that buys the goat. If you will be picking your goat(s) up yourself please be prepared to pay your remaining balance in cash (not paypal). Any and all costs associated with shipping or transportation are the responsibility of the buyer. Transportation and all shipping arrangements are the buyers responsability. If you need a health certificate (CVI), please let me know so I can schedule the vet exam before transport. Health certificates must be paid before the vet exam, and are $100 for the first goat with each additional goat costing $5. We do not airship. In the event that you cannot pick up your goat during the agreed upon time listed above, board arrangements must be discussed (such as length of time) and will be $30/week. The goat must be paid for in full, and all risk is transferred to the buyer. We do not offer board for buck kids - they must be picked up by 9 weeks of age. All funds must be cleared including board before pickup. All monies received are non refundable should the purchaser back out. If you back out for any reason or fail to pickup goat when agreed upon, our deal is completed and the goat will be listed for sale again. I reserve the right to refuse any sale without explanation (the deposit would be immediately refunded of course). All goats are sold as healthy at the time they leave the farm and no other guarantees to the future health, height, scurs, or quality of the animal is guaranteed. Our herd is tested annually for CAE (all results negative). We have NEVER had CL on the farm. Our herd is randomly spot checked for Johnes (results always negative), and any new animal to the herd is tested as well. Due to our biosecurity measures we offer driveway pickups.
Thank you very much and let us know if you have any questions at all! Have a blessed day!
